Evaluation of Coal Waste Ash and Rice Husk Ash on Properties of Pervious Concrete Pavement

The use of pervious concrete has been significantly considered in recent years. This consideration is due to the properties of pervious concrete in relating to the environmental sustainability that is utilized in the effective management of the runoff from rainfall. Coal extraction and rice husk obtained from milling, produces wastes that have no application and followed by environmental pollut...

Utilization of Rice Husk and Their Ash: A Review

Due to rapid growth in population and industrialization, some new technologies are made for waste utilization and cost reduction in industrial processing by using rice husk (lignocellulosic biomass) as a valued material. In this paper various industrial and domestic application of rice husk and rice husk ash are discussed. Rice husk act as adsorbent for removing heavy metals from wastewater. In...

Rice Husk Ash-Derived Silica Nanofluids: Synthesis and Stability Study

Nanofluids, colloidal suspensions consisting of base fluids and nanoparticles, are a new generation of engineering working fluids. Nanofluids have shown great potential in heat/mass transfer applications. However, their practical applications are limited by the high production cost and low stability. In this study, a low-cost agricultural waste, rice husk ash (RHA), was used as a silicon source...

Soil Stabilization using Rice Husk Ash and Cement

Soil stabilization has become a major issue in construction engineering and the researches regarding the effectiveness of using industrial wastes are rapidly increasing. The present experimental work briefly describes the suitability of the locally available Rice Husk Ash (RHA) to be used in the local construction industry in a way to minimize the amount of waste to be disposed to the environme...
